Help me Beta Test a new web application

Darren said: "Hi, I'm implementing a and am asking for your assistance in helping develop the application. The concept of the Link Trade Manager is simple. You log in and create Site Profiles. Each site profile is for a site that you want to trade links with. The system admin approves the site, and places it in an appropriate category. People will be able to surf through the directory, find your site, and request a link trade. The system will enforce the trade by spidering the site to make sure your link is installed. Once installed, you will be notified and expected to place a link on your website. At this point the system will consider the trade agreement finished place it into your history. At this point I've installed a bare bones system. I'm looking for people to login and help me with feature suggestions and feedback. Thanks and Happy New Years Darren"

Sharky said: "i submited my website to it its, ever so simple its great! :D much better than the others where it takes hourrs just to fill in there form!"

Darren said: "Thanks Sharky, I'm going for that "Google" style feel of no graphics and fast loading. Now I have to write the approval tool and approve you :)"

Darren said: "
I'll help, where do i start?
Hi Brick, Register at http://trades.sootle.com/ and set up the account."

tracepeople said: "good idea, the index page need soem work though - perhaps the directoy listngs should be on the index page with the link to sign up?"

unixk1d said: "Looking good, but i think the index page needs a bit of work there... Otherwise, concept is good. Tried the tool, simple and easy to use as someone already mentioned! Great work!"

Darren said: "
good idea, the index page need soem work though - perhaps the directoy listngs should be on the index page with the link to sign up?
Okay, I took your advice. The directory listings are now on the index page. If the user tries to continue, she's prompted for a login or to create an account. No one tried adding a site, if you get a chance, give it a try."

edwin said: "i was able to signup and create an account no problem. the members profiles are cool."

quinny said: "i'm getting this when i try to log in
Fatal error: Class 'DB' not found in /home/tradenew/log.php on line 48
"

Heather said: "**Peeking** into it :)"

Darren said: "I'm on it. Thanks."

brick said: "In my user profile area, my site discription runs under the control panel (the discription is cut off)"

chris3471 said: "
i'm getting this when i try to log in
Maybe it just doesn't want you Quinny. Ok I registered too, it is definitely easier than some others I've tried. :)"

Darren said: "Okay, keep the feedback coming. Quinny, please register again. Something bad happened to you :) Sorry."

quinny said: "still no good... have created two accounts and got the email and all but now getting this
You must be logged in to access the Control Panel Login or Register Not registered? Register now. control.php Sorry, that username does not exist Please enter another name or register now
will try again"

Darren said: "What browser are you using Quinny?"

quinny said: "i'm using firefox"

Neutron2k said: "check your cookie and privacy settings quinny. chances are bk is using session objects and/or cookies and they are being blocked preventing you from logging in. add the url to your site allowed list in ie and ff."

Darren said: "You got it, N2k, it's all sessions based. It's amazing how running the same script on two different servers with PHP installed can result in quirks. I better check for sessions first and display some sort of warning message that the browser can't run it. Glad I asked for feedback."

chris3471 said: "I use Firefox and had no problems at all."

Darren said: "I can't replicate it in Firefox or IE, but I'm working on it. I could see from the logs that Quinny created an account and it never made it into the DB. I've also extended the functionality quite a bit and have the basic trading mechanism in place. Pretty much you will browse through the directory and click on sites that you want to trade with. Instead of being transported to their website, like in a normal directory, you'll go to a page and execute the trade request. Something amazing to me also: the subdomain is already indexed in Google and ranks in the top 10 for "Link Trade Manager". Not that this is a great accomplishment, but it does cleary show Google's bias towards existing sites. I'll be working more on this today and I appreciate the feedback you've given me. It's tough to try and build something in a vacuum."

edwin said: "i got my approval notice and the control panel looks better."

Sharky said: "very true looks much better!"

rickyjoreturns said: "The register page came up as a 404, so I'll try again later."
