google search Vs normal ads

brick said: "I'm sure most of you are familiar with google's search CPC program where someone can type in a search on your site and then there are ads at the top which if the user clicks on makes money. My Question is, is the CPC for google search the same as any normal ad? ie: Example ad#A makes me $1 a click on the normal adsense ad. Someone does a search and ad#A shows up again, do I still make 1$ for the click?"

chris3471 said: "I would like to know that too. I got one click from a search for a whopping 2 cents."

edwin said: "its awful money. i disabled the search after a few weeks because it pays too low. i do recommend the ad links units though. those pay well."

chris3471 said: "I just noticed on another site they had 2 ad towers. Does google allow more than 1 tower or banner on a page?"

Heather said: "You can have up to 3 ad units per page. Formatted in whatever way you prefer.."

chris3471 said: "Thanks bridget, I didn't want to add more just because I saw someone else did and risk violating Googles TOS. :D Hmm... now that I think about it, that info probably is in the TOS, but that thing is so long it probably would have took me a week to find it. :D"

chris3471 said: "I agree, I may have only made 2 cents from it but it's better than no cents. :D"

edwin said: "i like the ad links better than the search though."

chris3471 said: "That I also agree with. :D Most I've got from 1 click so far is $1.01 not bad but more is better that's why I keep adding different types of content to my site. By the way, Channel code goes where in code? does it go below ad code, or in the ad code where it says channel="""

edwin said: "you put the number in where the quotes are google_ad_channel="yournumber11111""

chris3471 said: "Thanks, I got them to work last night, your way would have been easier. I created custom channels last night and put in new ad codes for each page. Question can I put ads on my links page? I haven't yet but I am getting a lot of traffic on that page."

I would consult the TOS as always to be sure, but the ones I mentioned above are the ones that are big no, nos."
