tracepeople said: "I'm setting up my second blog and thrid blogs, I've just bought a bunch of urls that I'm going to develop.
I don't want to use wordpres as its hard to modify the header to fit in with yuor site and greaymatter software isn't liked by blogger.com etc so which other softwares do you lot recommend?"
chris3471 said: "Wordpress is very easy to modify the header."
Darren said: "Yes, you have a mis-conception about WordPress I think. It's the best one."
chris3471 said: "I think what he wants is to have all the links in the header and footer like his current blog and homepage. Still a very easy task."
Darren said: "Tell him how he can do it."
chris3471 said: "I was thinking the same thing, I have to go someplace right now but when I get back I'll show him how it's done."
Darren said: "Way to go. I'm sure he'll convert."
tracepeople said: "that's exactly what I'm after chris, all my links in my header and footer. I couldn't do it last time with wordpress.
I do agree its the best software, but if I can't modify the header like that then I don't want to use it.
I'll install it and you can help me modify :)
cheers!"
chris3471 said: "I'm happy to help. I'll make up a header for you that will match what you have now with all the links in it. I have to run to the post office first."
Darren said: "He's picking up a huge check."
tracepeople said: "thanks for that chris, I hope you get a nice big check. :D It'd be funny seeing you try to cash one of those huge novelty sized cheques :D"
chris3471 said: "I wish I was, I just had to ship a few items. :D On the plus side though, I'm not making the post office rich anymore."
chris3471 said: "I'm getting started on that now Trace. It shouldn't take long."
chris3471 said: "How about this Trace?

When you think about it, almost everything I've learned so far is from other webmasters helping me.:)"
chris3471 said: "I wonder where he's at?"
tracepeople said: "looks good chris, how'd you do it?"
chris3471 said: "It was a real pain, took a few hours. Typically a header is an image but in this case I used a div and made the bgcolor white. I started off doing something complicated trying to use all divs but the alignment was becoming a real pain, then I took your code and put it in a single div, made a few adjustments, edited a couple files then it worked. Then I edited the images so they would match your site and look good with the rest of the blog. I'll do a test install and if everything works then I'll upload it to my site and pm you a link. Then I'll see if I can make some type of text file explaining what I had to do in case you need to change anything.
You should be able to use this for your other blogs as well. Just change the links and image links, you may have to make minor changes but I'll help if you need it.
There is a way to import posts from your other blog but I don't know how, maybe someone else does.
If I had to do this again, assuming that I was able to use your code like I did this time, I would say I could do it in less than an hour, not counting editing the images to change the bgcolor.
I spent more time trying to get rid of the default image because it was covering the black border I put around the header. Finally since I couldn't get rid of it I just made it smaller.
It does look good and it will look even better when you make a few posts."
chris3471 said: "Oh, I also made it so the sidebar and links will show on the single post pages."
chris3471 said: "Install worked, I PMed you a link to download it."
tracepeople said: "that was great chris! Well done! I'm gonna set it up this weekend.
I'll put a link to search me baby on my new websites."
chris3471 said: "Thank you, and let me know if you need any help with the other blogs."
edwin said: "good work! looks good."
chris3471 said: "Thanks, I'm starting to think I'm getting good at this stuff. :D"
Darren said: "No doubt about it. Keep it up."
chris3471 said: "I sometimes find it hard to believe I've learned so much since November 1st, that's only 4 months."
Darren said: "It's impressive. You must have a need to learn the subject. Could be the fact you're getting old and living in Buffalo :)"
chris3471 said: "Yep, and the 18 hours a day on the computer make the learning faster.
By far the best part about an internet business is that you aren't tied to any specific location, if I decide to leave Buffalo I can pack up, move to another city or state and the business goes with me and is completely unaffected by the move."
Darren said: "That's a fact. When you live in the cold weather, that could come in handy some day."
JustArticles said: "I use both Wordpress and Blogger. I prefer Blogger software because blogs can be customized to perfectly match your existing web site and because it creates regular HTML pages which I believe are a little better for SEO. We use blogger for many of our client's marketing campaigns and it is performing very well in search results. Wordpress is great software though and because it can be uploaded to your server some feel more secure using it."
geekpunk said: "I use blogger, xanga and multiply. Each has its set of advantages to hook you."
