What do you call it?

raven said: "I am curious to find out what people call carbonated drinks."

edwin said: "it's pop all the way. like mom and pop"

Heather said: "I'm a pop kinda girl, although I don't drink much of it most days.."

Neutron2k said: "I just call them drinks. You can't really call them cokes as they're an actual product. Soft drinks i suppose would be the global term for them."

raven said: "They DO call them cokes in some parts of the US - no matter which flavour you are talking about. (Alabama area, I think). It's different everywhere. That's why I put the poll up."

Developer said: "In UK we just call them drinks or use the specific brand name. Pop is the sort of name kids would call it. Soda is American. Beverage is used by people who run catering firms. Coke is just used for Coke. I think that cleared it up from the UKs perspective."

quinny said: "soft drinks or Minerals over here and cola would just generally be referred to as Coke"

raven said: "In Canada it's called pop. In the USA it is called coke, pop and soda, depending on the state you live in. I can't picture calling all carbonated drinks coke, but they do in some places."

Darksat said: "Fizzy Drink."

Darren said: "I never order it, so that makes life easy."

raven said: "So now I want to know, do you order an 'orange coke' in those places where all carbonated drinks are called cokes? Is there anyone reading this that is from that area of the US?"

Neutron2k said: "YOu could order a cherry coke, lemon coke or lime coke & get away with it"
