Google pr calculation ?Google pr calculation ?
Padawan said: "I know this is a very subjective question but has anyone got any ideas how many backlinks, and what pr those backlinks need to have, in order for me to see an increase in my own pr ? (I currently have a new site with pr=0 )"
Darksat said: "The original PR whitepaper stated a 10X logarithmic value with a 15% dampening factor but that has been seriously reduced IMHO, buest guess, between 5-7 times X to go up one PR value.
A good guide is located here.

Darksat said: "essentially it takes 6-7 times the power to go up from a PR2-3 from 3-4, etc and pages only pass on 85% of the PR in order to ensure that the entire internet dosnt end up with the same PR."
Padawan said: "Okay, put another way, I have over the last few weeks got somewhere around 300 links to my site, nearly all one-way. The sites in question have PR0-7 with the average probably being around PR3 - is this enough to get myself off of zero ?"
Darksat said: "Yes but you will have to wait for a PR update to see the effects in the toolbar."
DodgeCroft said: "Our site www xcapewithus com is still on a PR2 for about a year I think (just recently started). We split our site into subdomains making it more difficult to gain the amount of links, but we're coming on ok. If our subdomains have a PR of say 4, would that pull up some of the other pages that have no PR? They all linked in one way or other.
Other thing is, is there a way to check the PR history? To see how long a site has had that rating and try and gauge our efforts on those results?
Thanks"

or use a sitemap.
the sitemap is linked from every page on your website, and it contains a link to every page on your website, so this is generally a good way to spread pagerank evenly throughout your whole site."
