You need a web address to use for your website - this is the domain part which would be [url]www.whateveryournameis.com[/url] or .net or .info whatever extension you want to use. Once you have your site built you'll need a home for this web address which would be the web host. Once you have your address on the server (host) you will then upload your website and use your web address to show everyone. I think GoDaddy has hosting plans too but I don't know how good/expensive they are."

The cost of the domain name was $8.95 plus $0.25 for ICANN fee. I also got their Who is identity protection for another $8.95 but since I got it at the same time as my domain name it was reduced to $3.94 (approximately as I remember it). My hosting was $35.40 for one year that is $2.95 per month which you can also do. For that I got the following.... 150 MB space, 10 Gig Data Transfer, PHP Support, 3 MySQL, Databases, 15 Email Accounts, 34 Auto Install Scripts, FrontPage Extensions, Plesk Control Panel (This is a simplistic list) and as I said before great support from both forum and email. All I did was give the information Brian needed (the owner) about my domain name and he completely took care of every thing in getting me setup for free all I had to do was ftp my site up to the server. I've heard that if you get a domain name from Godaddy that you can get it hosted by them either for free or for very little but I have also heard some horror stories about Godaddy hosting and also that you should avoid hosting with the same people as you got your domain name from since moving it at a later date may be a problem in such cases."

Neutron2k said: "Frontpage uses what is called frontpage extensions to interact and upload files to your server. that way you dont need to know the ftp details of the server, you can just enter your url and password. Try using frontpage to upload to your server. (yes it is your userid and password for your webspace). If that doesnt work, i dont think frontpage has an ftp client built in like dreamweaver does so keep an ftp program handy. Hope this helps :)"
